COBie - Construction Operations Building Information Exchange

The Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie) is a widely adopted US specification (an IFC - Industry Foundation Classes MVD - Model View Definitions for the exchange of IFC data to support facility management by owners and operators. A COBie file would typically be delivered as a spreadsheet.

There is some COBie support in Bonsai. Also IfcOpenShell can make us of COBie MicroMVD and both can use MicroMVDs for quality assurance of received data.

Software Libraries

• XbimCOBieExpress is a CPPL licensed library from xBIMTeam to manage COBie data in a similar way that Xbim.Ifc does for IFC data
